Question answered, sort of.
By: Matthew | September 5th, 2008This is every where but it doesn’t matter.
Not too long ago, Roberto, over at the Juve offside, left a comment wondering how much Buffon would be worth in the open market.

Well we now at least have an idea of how much he is worth to Manchester City. At least, according to goal.com
Apparently Manchester City is willing to bid 70 million Euro’s for Gigi. Seems like a lot but the new owners have stated they want the best team. They’ve got Robinho so far. Who’s next?
Do you believe Buffon would make the move if 70 million is thrown his way? How loyal do you think he would be to Juve and would Juve and even allow it? They’ve got Manninger now, no Buffon of course, but still a decent keeper who has stated his intention to make Buffon work for the #1 spot at camp Juve.
What are your thoughts?

he didnt leave juve when they went to serie B, he wont do it now or anytime soon for the money…the only way i see him leaving is if juventus really REALLY need the money, which i dont see happening

Ye agreed, i cant see him having gone through all that debacle with Juve going to Serie B etc without coming out with a bit of silverware. Juve will end his career at Juve, no chance hes leaving

you do realize this has absolutely nothing to do with fact and just someone dreaming up a story for “content”. Mark Hughes has not expressed an interest even slightly

Unfortunately, what Mark Hughes wants is no longer what he’ll get.
But I agree it’s pure fantasy.

Absolutely, I agree that it is fantasy. I’m not one for transfer rumours but I find in this case, it’s fun to talk about with the extreme chances and the extreme amount of money.
I’m also not one to believe anything that comes out of goal.com’s ‘mouth’.Sorry J, this was one of those posts just for content.

Matthew – I certainly didn’t mean anything negative towards of you and I apologize if it came of poorly. I was reading likely the same things you were and were blown away with the thought of Gigi moving. I was thinking of whether the Buffon family making their way to Manchester and then I realized all the reports were media.
Of course since that seems to work, I think someone ought to sign-up baby Louis. We can write him in as “top keeper prospect of 2023″ – lol

Louis and Tobias Del Piero are already signed up for life.
