Back in Action

I hope you all had a great New Year/Holiday/Time off.

Although he didn’t have much to do the entire game it was still good to see Buffon play a full 90 minutes. There were a couple instances in the first 15 minutes where he looked hesitant and there was a clear lack of communication but I will gladly chalk that up to him getting back into the groove. The rest of the match looked much better.

As for his confidence, I would say it was pretty high. Buffon was out playing this match. It’s not too often you’ll see Gigi take on an attacker but he was all about it this match. I watched him twice fake out an attacker then get the ball out which was great to watch.

In the end it was a good match for the #1 to really warm up with and get a taste of action. I imagine Ranieri will still proceed with caution but let’s hope 2009 brings good health.

“Whether he was throwing himself at the ball or at opposing player’s feet, Gigi did it without any hesitation tonight.” -me.

Hesitation, no hesitation… agree to disagree lol.
